Program: Welcome to the IEC C65 2024 Automation Forum! Join us on Thu. Sep. 12th, 2024 at 09:00 AM at the Telus Convention Centre for a day full of exciting discussions and insights on automation technologies. This in-person event will bring together industry experts, innovators, and enthusiasts to explore the latest trends and advancements in automation to discuss:

- Circular economy and sustainability
Furthermore, there will be roughly 80 IEC experts in attendance and encourage the local engineering/technical community members from around Calgary to join us. The Automation Forum is a GREAT way to kick off Fall and the technical talk season for the Calgary ISA and the IEEE members/communities in Southern Alberta.
Background: The Automation Forum is an international event with speakers being a combination of IEC TC65 Experts and Alberta innovators. Half (50%) of the presentations are by IEC experts talking about the different IEC Industrial Automation standards in development/recently released and how they can be used by industry. The other half (50%) of the presentations are focused on Canadian innovation and the use of standards to provide safe and reliable operation of the industries driving our economy.
IEC has as two of its core principles for development of all standards, the concept of sustainability and an “all electric society.”
Lastly, the IEC TC65 is responsible for the development of international standards related to industrial process measurement, control and automation which includes in its scope, safety and cybersecurity.
